In this demo I will be painting grapes in alla prima technique. I’ll focus on creating a strong silhouette, talk about negative shapes and their importance in painting, and touch on colour mixing.

These are the paints in the order they are placed on my palette. I prefer to use a more expanded palette when working in the studio, but this number of colors is by no means necessary. Most of these are constant on my palette, but others get switched out depending on what I’m painting. I mostly work with Master Class paints because they offer the best price-to-quality ratio I can find, and I prefer their thicker consistency, though I also use paints from other brands.
