“Inspired by colors and textures, still life is the genre I always come back to. I love how simple objects can transcend their everyday meaning and become a part of something bigger when painted. As I always work from direct observation this is where I can have the most control over the subject of my painting and I enjoy the opportunity to completely create my own composition out of ordinary objects. Still life painting for me is about mindfulness – paying attention to subtle details and beauty of everyday things.”
